VS. Monday – Best Foundations for Oily Skin

If you’re like me, you know how difficult it is to find a foundation that matches your skin type and has the coverage you’re wanting.  I thought that today I would show you some of my favourite foundations for oily skinned gals because it can be a real struggle.

Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint

Foundation One:  Velvet Matte Skin Tint ($71 NZD) – Nars

This is more of a tinted moisturiser than a full-blown foundation, so it’s really great for those who are wanting a little something to pop on their face in the morning.  It is hydrating whilst still remaining matte on the skin.  It is super easy to apply with your hands or with a brush too.

Coverage:  Sheer
Finish:  Matte
Application:  Hands/Fingers, Brush.  A beauty blender may soak up too much product

All Day Luminous Weightless in Shade Khartoum

Foundation Two:  All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation ($78 NZD) – Nars

This is a more medium-buildable coverage foundation that helps to keep the face flawlessly matte all day.  It has a beautiful luminous effect without emphasising pores or making the skin look shiny.  It has a sixteen hour wear time too which is fantastic.  This can be worn in a thin layer to be medium coverage, or, it can be layered to be a full coverage also.

Coverage:  Medium-Buildable
Finish:  Matte
Application:  Hands/Fingers, Brush, Beautyblender

Double Wear Foundation in Shade 1C0 Shell

Foundation Three:  Double Wear Foundation ($69 NZD) – Estee Lauder

This is an amazing matte foundation that boasts an impressive 24 hours of wear time, whilst keeping a flawlessly matte medium buildable coverage all day.  This dries down really nicely on the face, minimising the appearance of pores and perfecting and balancing skin tone.  This has SPF in it too which is fantastic for the harsh sun here in New Zealand.

Coverage:  Medium, Buildable
Finish:  Matte
Application:  Hands/Fingers, Brush, Beautyblender

This can be found discounted on sites such as Strawberry Net $68.50 NZD and $53.06 at carethy.net.  Colours may be limited on these sites, however.

Available to buy here

All Hours Foundation in Shade BD50

Foundation Four:  All Hours Foundation ($101 NZD) – Yves Saint Laurent

This is my absolute favourite foundation of all time. This has a beautiful matte, but still brightening finish, and amazing full coverage.  It helps to keep oils at bay and minimise the appearance of pores too.  It also has UV coverage which is great for anti-ageing and for skin health in general.  It is also packed with skincare, keeping your skin happy whilst you are wearing it.

Coverage:  Full
Finish:  Matte
Application:  Hands/Fingers, Brush, Beautyblender

This is cheaper on other sites such as Strawberry Net at $87.50NZD and at Cosmetics Now NZ for $77.95NZD.  Again, colours may be limited.

Available to buy here

Has anyone tried these foundations before?  What did you think?

Should I do a post on primers to go with these too?  Lemme know down below!
